Completion of new liquid evaporation ponds at the PRWMF

The Shire of Ashburton is excited to announce the completion of new liquid evaporation ponds at the PRWMF, adding a massive 15,000 tonnes of capacity.

Conveniently located on the Onslow Road, close to the North West Coastal Highway, this development marks another step forward in our commitment to delivering sustainable and locally driven waste solutions.

Alongside the evaporation ponds, we’ve also developed 7,500 tonnes of drying pad capacity, designed to handle challenging industrial waste streams like drill muds, biosolids, clay and silty sediments and brine waste.

This addition provides local industry with a dedicated solution for managing and processing these materials efficiently on-site, supporting industry needs and environmental responsibility.

By handling both liquid and solid industrial wastes locally, we’re significantly reducing the need for long-distance transfers outside the Shire, a win for local businesses and the environment.
